Bosch Management Consulting (BMC/IC) is Bosch’s in-house top-management consultancy. We focus on internal strategic initiatives that accelerate transformation and business growth, delivering high-impact, ready-to-implement solutions with strong returns on investment for Bosch. Our work spans portfolio and product strategy, value-creation plans, growth and M&A projects, joint ventures and partnerships, restructuring, and performance programs. BMC/IC supports every Bosch division—from Mobility Solutions and Industrial Technology to Consumer Goods and Energy & Building Technology.

BMC/IC is organized into four pillars (Restructuring & M&A, Strategy & Supply Chain, Portfolio Optimization, Technology) led by partners and covering nine consulting domains: Value Creation Plans, Performance Improvement, Restructuring, M&A Operations, Market & Strategy, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering & Controlling. Project teams are assembled across these domains as needed. Bosch Management Consulting (BMC/IC) operates with a global setup, having the home bases in Germany and an Asian office in Shanghai, China. The German headquarter is in Ludwigsburg; an additional office is operated in Munich.

Cross functional projects in teams of highly experienced, highly motivated consultants (typically 3–12) lasting three to -nine months. Our projects are interdisciplinary, agile, and largely self--organized, with a hybrid working model. Roughly one third takes place outside the Stuttgart/Shanghai area. BMC/IC handles a variety of projects, including holistic transformation projects across high-impact topics like portfolio and product strategy, value creation plans, growth strategy, M&A strategy, joint ventures and partnerships, restructuring, and performance programs.

Bosch Management Consulting (BMC/IC) collaborates closely with internal clients using a cooperative and solution-oriented approach. The integration into business unit internal project teams is emphasized, enabling seamless collaboration. BMC/IC consultants aim to work closely with clients across all hierarchical levels "at eye level," fostering mutual exchange and co-creation. They leverage Bosch-wide perspectives and integrate external insights where necessary to enrich the project and offer pragmatic solutions. This includes structuring and leading projects with a clear rhythm, using the unique advantage of "speaking Bosch" to ensure the project's success.

Projects are commissioned by board members, business unit leaders, and similar stakeholders. BMC/IC-Partners handle staffing and, wherever possible, match assignments to each consultant’s career plan within Bosch. The staffing of projects is independent of the domain structure; this means that the projects are staffed in a cross-domain manner. An important aspect of staffing is broadening the horizons of each consultant.

Travel depends on the project, its phase, and location. When client meetings allow, one to two remote/office days per week are common. Most projects are in or around Stuttgart.

Most new joiners start as “Director Consulting”. Inside BMC/IC, the next career levels are Domain Lead and, ultimately, Partner; however, unlike traditional external consulting tracks, the more common path after 2-4 years is to move into a leadership role within a Bosch line organization.
